Manuel Juárez, born in Mexico, is a multidisciplinary artist who works at the intersection of fashion, media, and film. What inspired you to become a fashion designer?
My background in fashion, media, and film inspired me to explore how clothing can shape identity and presence. I see fashion as a form of visual storytelling that transforms the way people move, feel, and express themselves.
How would you describe your design style?
My design style balances structure with fluidity. I focus on clean construction, refined tailoring, and emotional restraint, creating garments that feel powerful without being excessive.
What can people expect from your latest collection?
FASTIGIUM explores the tension between strength and vulnerability. Through sculptural tailoring, lace, satin, and dramatic silhouettes, I wanted to create pieces that empower women while allowing them to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.
Why is the balance between structure and vulnerability so important in your work?
I'm interested in the contrast between control and emotion. By balancing architectural construction with soft movement, I want my designs to express confidence while revealing the quiet vulnerability that exists within everyone.
What does "presence" mean in your design philosophy?
For me, clothing is more than decoration. It creates presence by shaping how the body occupies space. I want each garment to communicate confidence, emotion, and identity through proportion, movement, and craftsmanship rather than excess.
