Born in Okayama, Japan. Graduating Marronnier College of Fashion Design, beginning the career as a patterner.

I launched an apparel brand, CHIDORI, after gaining practical experiences in designing and production management while working for several manufacturers.

CHIDORI is displayed and offered in domestic as well as international joint exhibitions, home shopping programs, pop-up shops at department stores, and our e-commerce website.

CHIDORI features gimmicky designs that only our skills and background as a pattern maker can create. Our product line-up includes women’s wear, unisex wear, bags, and leather goods, all designed based on the concept of transformation.

What inspired you to become a fashion designer?

My career began as a pattern maker, where I developed experience in design, pattern making, and production management. This experience eventually led me to launch CHIDORI and explore fashion through innovative pattern techniques.

How would you describe your design style?

My style combines conceptual, dramatic, and playful elements with practical everyday wearability. I use intricate pattern techniques to create garments that can transform in shape, colour, or function.

What can people expect from your collection?

You can expect transformable garments that reveal different shapes, colours, or styling possibilities. CHIDORI combines sophisticated pattern techniques with playful details to create pieces that offer multiple ways to wear and enjoy them.

How has your background as a pattern maker influenced CHIDORI’s designs?

My background as a pattern maker is central to CHIDORI’s design approach. I use advanced pattern techniques to create garments with mechanisms and details that allow their shapes and appearances to change.

What does “TRANSFORM” mean to CHIDORI?

“TRANSFORM” is more than a design feature for CHIDORI; it is a philosophy. The brand uses transformable clothing to challenge fixed ideas about how garments should be worn, offering new ways to express individuality while remaining functional in everyday life.
