What inspired you to become a fashion designer?

I grew up in a family where fashion aesthetics were highly valued. I later studied fashion design at Nottingham Trent University, which helped me develop my skills and pursue fashion professionally.

How would you describe your design style?

I describe ANK by Amrit as a contemporary South Asian brand with a Boho Chic aesthetic and a blend of cultures. Our styles are edgy and modern, with touches of sustainable and culturally rich design.

What can people expect from your collection?

You can expect brightly coloured, travel-ready designs that combine contemporary silhouettes with South Asian influences and traditional craftsmanship.

What inspired you to launch ANK by Amrit?

Launching my own label had always been a dream of mine. I wanted to build a name for myself and create work that would be remembered.

How does Indian craftsmanship influence your designs?

ANK by Amrit combines contemporary silhouettes with traditional Indian craftsmanship. The “Stay Groovy” collection, for example, incorporated Ajrakh, a traditional block-printing technique, into modern pieces such as bell-bottom pants.
