Moda! Italy on the Catwalk

Italy’s Presence in Vancouver Fashion Week S/S 2019

September 11 th , 2018 VANCOUVER (BC) – From September 17 to 23, Vancouver will become a beacon for all those who are interested in the world of fashion. Vancouver Fashion Week S/S 2019 Season (VFW) will welcome the participation of fashion artists from many countries, including Italy.

The nation that produced Armani, Versace and Valentino will be represented by NABA (Nuova

Accademia di Belle Arti), an education Academy focusing on arts and design. Naba will be representing the collections of four of its students: Arianna Bonifazi, Gaoming Chen, He

Yan, Yeqi Tang.

Along with NABA, Italy will also present the work of two leading fashion designers: Elena Pignata (Ombradifoglia) and Giulia Solda’ (Maatroom) . The participation of Italian schools and designers to this year’s edition of the Vancouver Fashion Week is made possible by the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada-West.

The Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada-West is also organizing the free workshop “Fashion is a Language. Making Fashion at NABA”. The workshop is presented by prof. Nicoletta Morozzi, director of the Fashion Department at NABA – Nuova Accademia Belle Arti, Milano and it is an intensive insight into Naba fashion design methodology, especially thought and dedicated to fashion students: a full “made in Italy” immersion, for the first time ever in Vancouver.

The runways of Moda! Italy on the Catwalk will take place on September 20th, from 5pm to 6pm at VFW, Vancouver Art Gallery’s šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square (formerly Vancouver Art Gallery’s North Plaza/ Georgia Plaza). Info and tickets on www.vanfashionweek.com.

The workshop “Fashion is a Language. Making Fashion at NABA” will take place on September 19th, from 5.30pm to 8pm at SFU VentureLabs® Downtown – 555 W Hastings St.,11th floor – Vancouver.
