La Espina is an ethical and cruelty free brand, founded in 2014 at La Paz Bolivia. As a brand we believe in transparency and honoring our bolivian roots. We strive to bring a new identity to bolivian desing, through textile experimentation and the exploration of concepts in the Andean cosmovision. In these years in the market La Espina has become one of the most relevant brands in the bolivian scene, participating at the best fashion events in the country, being featured local and international press such as: Vogue Italia, Vogue Latinamerica, Elle Latinamerica, and L’Officiel Argentina. Vania Rodriguez, the creative director of La Espina is a 28 year old fashion designer. She got her degree in Fashion and Textile Design from Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, in Buenos Aires, and since she returned to her home country she has been an entrepreneur with this fashion house. She believes in exploring the relationship between emotions and fashion, and because she feels so strongly about this, she applied and won the Chevening Award, a prestigious scholarship awarded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK, to a few people in her country. She is currently living in London where she attends the London College of Fashion, pursuing her masters degree in Applied Psychology in Fashion. With this achievement, she believes she can research for ways in which the fashion industry can take a positive turn, towards helping mental and emotional health of human beings.
