Enterprising Women Making Art (EWMA)

Blending art and social entrepreneurship, Enterprising Women Making Art (EWMA) is a
community-based self – employment initiative for women marginalized by their struggles with
violence, poverty, substance use and mental wellness. A program of Atira Women’s Resource
Society, EWMA supports women artists and artisans in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside in the
creation, production and marketing of women’s fashion designs, textiles, visual arts, ceramics
and photography. EWMA artists have graced the catwalk at Vancouver Fashion Week since
2015 and are immensely grateful to be the charity partner of such an amazing event. EWMA
artists and artisans have the unique opportunity to showcase and show off their amazing work.
