Swiss-based designer Thomas Clément graduated with both a Bachelor and Master from HEAD – Geneva, where he developed a practice rooted in experimentation and textile manipulation. His work explores the transformative potential of materials, using intuition and technical precision to push the boundaries of garment construction. In 2024, he received the Applied Arts Prize from the City of Geneva, recognizing the depth and originality of his research-driven approach. Guided by a desire for innovation, he continues to refine a design language built on serendipity, reconstructed materials, and sculptural processes. He is currently preparing to launch his own brand, beginning with a debut line of footwear.

What inspired you to become a fashion designer?
I've always been fascinated by the creative possibilities of textiles and garment construction. Fashion allows me to experiment with materials and transform unexpected ideas into wearable forms.
How would you describe your design style?
My design style is experimental and sculptural. I enjoy manipulating textiles, reconstructing materials, and balancing intuition with technical precision to create distinctive silhouettes.
What can people expect from your latest collection?
My latest collection explores transformation through reconstructed materials and innovative textile techniques. Each look reflects curiosity, craftsmanship, and a willingness to challenge conventional garment construction.
Why do you enjoy reconstructing materials instead of using them as they are?
Reconstructing materials allows me to discover unexpected textures and forms. I enjoy giving familiar materials a new identity and revealing possibilities that aren't immediately visible.
How do intuition and technical precision work together in your creative process?
I begin with intuition and experimentation, then refine each idea through careful technical development. Balancing creativity with precision allows me to create garments that are both innovative and thoughtfully constructed.
