I am active in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. While working as an architect specialising in residential design, I frequently visit India, a country I deeply love.
It was there that I discovered the beautiful and warm handcrafted Indian textiles, which left a lasting impression on me.
Inspired by this encounter, I taught myself clothing design and, in 2022, launched my fashion brand, TETTE, featuring garments made from Indian fabrics.
My architectural background and travel experiences have greatly influenced my design approach, spatial awareness, and sense of colour.
The vintage quilts in our collection are crafted by layering antique fabrics over decades to centuries, enhanced with patchwork and stitching.
Each quilt is unique and charming, reflecting the creativity and playfulness of the artisans.
This collection draws inspiration from the way a single piece of fabric transforms into a quilt, and over time, into a beloved vintage quilt, much like the changing seasons.

What inspired you to become a fashion designer?
I was deeply moved by vintage quilts I discovered while travelling in India. Their handmade details, individuality, and histories inspired me to teach myself clothing construction and eventually establish TETTE in 2022.
How would you describe your design style?
Her designs transform vintage Indian Ralli and Kantha quilts into contemporary clothing while preserving their handmade character. Simple, refined forms allow the unique colours, patterns, stitching, and histories of each textile to remain visible.
What can people expect from your “Meguru” collection?
The SS25 collection celebrates the heritage and individuality of vintage Ralli quilts through colourful contemporary garments. Traditional Indian textiles and detailed handwork give each piece its own character while reflecting TETTE’s respect for existing materials.
Why are vintage Ralli quilts central to your designs?
Each vintage quilt carries unique patterns, colours, stitching, and traces of the people who created and used it. I preserve these individual qualities by transforming the textiles into clothing rather than replacing their imperfections.
How does handcrafting contribute to the character of your pieces?
The irregular stitching and handmade qualities of vintage quilts give every textile a character that machines cannot reproduce. I preserve this warmth and individuality while reshaping the fabrics into contemporary garments.
