PREVIOUS  COLLECTIONS

What inspired you to become a fashion designer?

FLAKE started with a wish to make clothes that quietly accompany people's lives and stay loved for years, even the name comes from my birth flower, a small bloom that keeps flowering with quiet strength.

How would you describe your design style?

I work with old Japanese cloth and boro, reviving forgotten beauty by hand into modern pieces, made for the people it truly speaks to, not for everyone.

What can people expect from your latest collection?

FLAKE's VFW SS26 collection is built from vintage Japanese futon fabric, chosen for its lattice patterns, with each fragile antique piece reinforced by hand to keep its original texture.

What's the story behind the name FLAKE?

FLAKE comes from my own birth flower –small, but always blooming with quiet strength.

What makes FLAKE's approach to remade fashion different?

FLAKE reads the mending marks in old fabric as traces of someone's care for someone dear –sustainability here means honoring that human warmth, not just reusing material.
