Pattern Nation is a slow fashion sustainable clothing design brand, artist collective and creative platform for colourful humans run by cosmic partners and spouses Cyd Eva and Costa Besta and friend and artist Brianna Klassen. They create handmade one of a kind & small run ungendered street wear and accessories, interactive art installations called blobs, visual art and surface pattern designs, fashion films and photography, DJ & live music sets, events, workshops, collaborative projects and more.
CLAIRE is a queer, multi-media artist who runs CLAIRE UPCYCLED, an eco fashion brand creating 1 of 1, gender neutral, wearable art streetwear. Creator Claire Scott grew up in Stratford, Ontario with the passion to turn heads and create a difference in the creative world. She has repurposed and upcycled over 2500 articles of clothing, been published in national magazines, won awards for her artist and activist pursuits, and displayed her work internationally.
Jaqke Austdone is a queer multi-media artist from Vancouver, currently based in the UK. With an education in fashion design and a background in agriculture, Jaqke has found inspiration in the natural world while exploring new avenues of self expression, conceptualizing and reimagining old garments into new creations.

You can expect a one-of-a-kind, gender-neutral sustainable fashion collection featuring bold, colourful wearable art and streetwear. The collection brings art to the forefront of fashion through original textile design, screen printing, deadstock fabrics, and conceptual composition.
What inspired the “MEANT 2 B” collection?
MEANT 2 B is inspired by the power of collaboration. Although the designers have different journeys and have drawn inspiration from different places around the world, they share an eagerness to create using found materials and artistic talent.
How does sustainability influence the collection?
The designers use deadstock, scrap, thrifted, vintage, secondhand, and donated materials as part of their approach to sustainable fashion. Original hand-drawn artwork is screen printed or applied through different construction techniques, making each piece unique.
