What inspired you to become a fashion designer?
Growing up with a wardrobe stylist mother, Lillea was surrounded by unusual clothing and developed a love for dressing up from an early age. That childhood interest grew into a passion for fashion and eventually led her to fashion school in Vancouver.
How would you describe your design style?
Known for colourful, rave inspired fashion, her style has evolved toward elevated everyday wear with greater attention to detail, functionality, and comfort. Inclusivity remains important, with clothing designed across genders and sizes.
What can people expect from your “Progression by Profanity” collection?
The FW24 collection marks a shift toward ready to wear pieces with a stronger focus on functionality. It also showcases Lillea’s growth in garment construction after spending five years developing her skills away from the runway.
What role do woven fabrics play in your design process?
Woven fabrics are Lillea’s preferred materials to work with and support her interest in detailed garment construction. Her enjoyment of experimenting with unexpected combinations also gives the designs a distinctive and expressive character.
Why have statement pants become such an important part of your designs?
Pants are Lillea’s favourite type of garment to construct, and statement pants have been central to her work since launching the brand. They reflect her interest in both strong visual design and garment construction.
