What inspired you to become a fashion designer?

Growing up in Okinawa, I have always been inspired by its nature, culture, and traditional craftsmanship. Through fashion, I wanted to preserve these traditions while creating clothing that connects people with the land and its stories.

How would you describe your design style?

My design style is rooted in Okinawan heritage and sustainability. I use traditional dyeing techniques, natural materials, and handcrafted details to create timeless garments that are both meaningful and environmentally conscious.

What can people expect from your latest collection?

My latest collection tells the story of a person's life—from birth and growth to love, family, and legacy. Through twelve unique patterns and natural Okinawan dyes, I hope each garment reflects the beauty of life's journey.

Why do you continue to use traditional Okinawan dyeing techniques?

Traditional dyeing techniques allow me to preserve Okinawa's cultural heritage while creating one-of-a-kind garments. Natural dyes such as Ryukyu indigo, Fukugi, and Momotamana each bring their own unique colour and character to every piece.

Why is made-to-order production important to your brand?

I believe clothing should be made with purpose rather than excess. By creating garments only when they are needed and offering custom-made pieces, I can reduce waste while ensuring every design is made for the person who wears it.
