Julie Mouly--Pommerol grew up in Clermont-Ferrand (France), where she gradually developed her creativity, influenced in particular by her father's passion for fashion and photography. Determined to become a fashion designer from an early age, she studied fashion design at the Institut Français de la Mode and then worked for several years in major fashion houses. In October 2024, she is a finalist at the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories of Hyères, where she had the opportunity to present a personal collection, entitled Métamorphose. In March 2025, Julie and her partner, Arnaud Bénézeth, a former business lawyer, decide to launch their own brand based in Paris and called “JULIE EHME”, in reference to Julie’s father's artist name. The brand’s first ready-to-wear collection derives directly from the Métamorphose collection.

What inspired you to become a fashion designer?
A passion for fashion from an early age, along with her father’s love of fashion, photography, and film, strongly influenced Julie’s decision to become a designer. Fashion also became a way for her to express herself and gain confidence.
How would you describe your design style?
The style is feminine and places strong emphasis on volume, garment construction, and the relationship between the body and the clothing. The designs explore whether the body should be revealed, concealed, or protected through the lines and shapes of each garment.
What can people expect from your latest collection?
The collection presented at Vancouver Fashion Week combines nature inspired prints, sculptural forms, and poetic details. Nature appears to emerge from or escape the garments through materials and elements such as fabric, metal, and paper, creating a dialogue between the human body and the natural world.
What inspired the Métamorphose collection?
The collection was inspired by nature and by the idea of personal transformation. Nature is portrayed as alive, poetic, joyful, mysterious, and intriguing, while its desire to reclaim its wild state becomes a metaphor for women seeking to express themselves beyond societal expectations.
How does sustainability influence your approach to fashion?
Sustainability is reflected through the use of deadstock, natural, and recycled materials, limited collections, modular garments, durable construction, and production in France. These choices are intended to support a slower approach to fashion and extend the life of each garment.
