Faun Studio is a conscientious fashion brand based in Calgary, founded by Marisa P. Clark, with a mission to weave positive change into the fabric of the fashion industry. Committed to sustainability, Faun uses eco-friendly materials and upholds ethical labor practices at every step of the supply chain. Clark’s designs have been featured at New York, Paris, Milan, and Vancouver Fashion Weeks. In 2021, she was voted the winner among Canada’s leading designers in Vote Couture for the Cure, creating a one-of-a-kind dress crafted entirely out of toilet paper and raising $10,000 for breast cancer research. Last year, she was recognized as one of Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40.

What inspired you to create Faun Studio?
I wanted to create a fashion brand that offered a more sustainable alternative to fast fashion. I was interested in creating clothing that was stylish, long lasting, and made with more conscious production choices.
How would you describe your design style?
My style is colourful, playful, and feminine, with a focus on colour, pattern, and texture. I create clothing that encourages people to express their individuality while feeling comfortable and ready for everyday adventures.
What can people expect from your latest collection?
You can expect thoughtfully designed womenswear that combines colour, patterns, and texture with a focus on sustainability. Faun Studio uses eco friendly, recycled, and deadstock materials whenever possible while maintaining style and quality.
Why is sustainability an important part of Faun Studio?
Sustainability has been part of Faun Studio from the beginning. The brand avoids fast fashion and focuses on ethical production, eco friendly materials, recycled fabrics, and deadstock materials to reduce waste and its environmental impact.
How does your connection to Vietnam influence Faun Studio?
Vietnam has an important connection to Faun Studio because Marisa’s mother was born there. The brand chose to manufacture in Vietnam with an ethically driven production facility, combining this personal connection with a commitment to responsible production.
