What inspired you to become a fashion designer?

I became interested in fashion during high school after watching What Not to Wear. I was fascinated by styling, colours, and putting outfits together, which led me to study Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Vancouver.

How would you describe your design style?

I would describe my aesthetic as a refined mob wife style. I create bold and feminine looks with elements such as faux fur, bold reds, metallics, and houndstooth.

What can people expect from your collection?

You can expect sultry, bold, and refined designs featuring black, red, houndstooth, and metallics. The collection has a dark, romantic, and intense mood, with couture pieces designed to create an emotional response.

Where do you find inspiration for your new collections?

I use fashion forecasting, Vogue shows, Pinterest, other forms of art, and streetwear as sources of inspiration. I also research new design techniques and pay attention to colours and styling that emerge through social media.

How does sustainability influence your approach to fashion design?

I hand make my garments to order and use recycled and deadstock fabrics whenever possible. More than 65 percent of my fabric comes from recycled materials and deadstock, and I also use fabric scraps to create pieces for my Zero Waste collection.
