"303" is a brand born from my graduation project at junior college. At junior college, I studied a wide range of design, including fashion and graphic design. After learning about the waste problem in the apparel industry, we decided to make use of the scraps generated during production.
I started making this as an upcycling project, but my ideas expanded from the irregular shapes and inconsistent colors of the scraps, and I began to value the scraps more as precious materials. This change has enriched my own feelings and influenced the joy of creating. I create my works using scraps of fabric and my imagination. I like to value humor.
「303」は短期大学の卒業制作で生まれたブランドです。
短期大学では、ファッションやグラフィックなど幅広いデザインを学びまし た。
その中でアパレル業界の廃棄物問題を知り、自分自身から変えていこうと思い制作時に生まれるハギレを使用し始めました。
アップサイクルとして始めた活動でしたが、歪なハギレの形や統一感のない色合いなどからアイデアが広がり、ハギレを貴重な素材としてより大事に思うようになりました。
この変化は私自身の気持ちをより豊かにし、制作の楽しさにも影響していると思います。
自分から残っていくものから想像して創造する完璧すぎないユーモアを大切にしたいです。

What inspired you to become a fashion designer?

What makes fabric scraps an important part of your creative process?
The irregular shapes and different colors of the scraps inspire new ideas. I came to see these leftover materials as precious resources and enjoy creating from what would otherwise be left behind.
