Carla Quiroga

Carla Quiroga is a fashion designer, born in Cochabamba in 1987. Interested in crafts since childhood and was raised in an environment where things were made by hand during family gatherings, she started knitting, sewing and painting when she was little. Each of her collections carries a hidden personal and emotional baggage, with a
nostalgic view of what was around her dating back to her happy childhood
She received her degree in Textile Design from the Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2011 and during her studies her work was awarded on various occasions.
After having worked for one year in Buenos Aires as a freelance designer, she realized that, although it would be difficult to return, it was important to be back in her own
country.
In 2012 she started Carla Quiroga with the aim of producing women’s and men’s apparel made 100% in Bolivia and supporting the Bolivian labor market.
CQ stands for Carla Quiroga, a Bolivian native who always dreamed about using fashion to communicate the beauty and diversity of her hometown. As the creative director and designer of CQ, Carla draws inspiration from the colors of nature, her love for travel, national folklore and traditions. You can find her dancing lively at the Carnaval de Oruro (car-nah-val de o-roo-ro) or taking a road trip to Salar de Uyuni (sa-lar de ooh-yoo-nee). Pansies are her favorite flowers and Piri (pee-ree) is the dish she enjoys the most.
All our collections are designed and manufactured in Bolivia, because our goal is to empower local artisans and help preserve the country’s history and tradition in textiles. Each piece is handmade using long-established techniques and created to be timeless yet unique.
